We have spent the last few months discussing Vacuous Depths’ direction. We’ve talked about our release goals, our sonic direction with newest drummer Gabriel Gozainy, and most notably, CHANGES to the band. After some serious planning behind the scenes, and with a huge amount of enthusiasm, we are excited to add Emilio Moreira as our lead guitarist. From day one, Emilio has been a long time friend of Vacuous Depths. Emilio will be playing his first show with us in Miami with Hellwitch on January 6th, 2024. For those that have seen us play live, this is going to be a whole new level of unrelenting punishment.
Since 2017, Vacuous Depths has always been a three piece group. Now, we can’t wait to share the songs that will follow up 2023’s Corporal Humiliation with additional elements of Emilio’s writing style. Emilio and Austin Thomas play differently, but have similar writing styles and share sonic goals. The band’s new material is already darker, more layered, with an immense amount of influence from both Emilio and Austin. 2024 is going to be a punishing year for Vacuous Depths.
